Bright Contracts requires the Microsoft .NET Framework version 4. Most PCs have the .NET Framework version 4 already installed. For those which don’t, the Bright Contracts software setup program will automatically attempt to download and install it.
Under the Employment Act 2019, it is now a criminal offence for employers not to have contracts of employment in place for their staff.
Employers found guilty of not meeting their obligations will face criminal prosecution, including fines of up to €5,000 or imprisonment of up to twelve months or both. Directors, managers, secretaries or other offices of a company can be held individually liable.

Bright Contracts Ireland is a program designed to create and manage a professional staff handbook and contracts of employment. You can optionally add, edit, move around or delete the provided handbook sections as required, and of course, you can add your own.
As an employer, when it comes to your new employees, you must give a written statement of 5 core terms of employment within 5 days of starting employment (also known as a Day 5 Statement).
These 5 terms are:
- The full name of employer and employee
- The address of the employer
- The expected duration of the employment contract
- The method of calculating or rate of pay
- The expected normal working day and week
Employees must receive the remaining terms in writing within 2 months of starting work. Penalties for non-compliance are up to €5,000 fine and in extreme cases a potential prison sentence!
