Despite its small feautre set and restricted functionality, CD to WAV/MP3 Ripper does what it’s supposed to. The application only allows you to extract CD tracks into WAV or MP3 files, neglecting other popular formats such as WMA. Also, unlike most CD-ripping apps we test, this one can’t even retrieve the disc information from CD databases. The settings are obviously intended for beginners; all you can choose is the bit rate. Nevertheless, in our tests, the program showed good speed, and the tracks it produced sounded just fine. If you don’t want to pay for a ripping program, don’t need any fancy feature, and don’t mind labeling your tracks by hand, this simple utility may be worth considering.
