However, they don’t all come out as you like, and it’s a task that falls in the hands of applications like nama5 to help you fix any errors, adjust colors or fill in missing details.

Simple design makes accommodation easy

When installing the application, you’re also offered the chance to deploy it on a removable disk drive to use on the go. This comes in handy for saving pictures on a USB Flash drive, and also having an editing tool close by. Moreover, the system you use it on remains intact, since registries are not affected.

In terms of visual design, the application comes with its own style, fresh interface, and elements pretty well-organized around the main window. It doesn’t feel cluttered at all, and accommodation is amongst the last things you need to worry about. The only thing you need to live with is the lack of options to change window size, taking up all the screen by default.

Manage collections and edit pictures

The application is more or less oriented towards organizing your collection of images in a neat, custom library. A side panel serves as your main navigation method through your computer’s folders to reach the ones where pictures are stored. Detected content is then shown in the rest of the space, with large thumbnails and several corresponding details.

The browser window is also fitted with a few filters to quickly sort through and find images of interest. As such, you can rate pictures with up to three stars, quickly mark them for processing, show in folder, or simply apply a few filters to the whole list.

Besides organizing your picture collection, there’s also a built-in editor to use. It runs in a separate tab and targets any selected picture. Sadly, it’s not really rich in terms of options. In other words, you only get to adjust several lighting and color sliders, with little to no automated functions, not to mention the complete absence of visual effects.

When work is done, pictures can be exported under three different configurable profile sets. File formats are only limited to TIF and JPG, with many file naming and quality options to go through. There’s even an option to have a program automatically launched when saving is done.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that nama5 is a lightweight application you can use to make slight adjustments to freshly-captured pictures, and export them under custom quality settings. It’s not quite at the pro level, with the list of options being rather shallow, and no quick fixes or neat effects to apply.
